One week before we depart for our big adventure!

These past few days have been a doozy. First, Grampy totaled his car, leaving us 1.5 weeks to organize things for him and today (Friday, 9/30/2022), we received a phone call that someone backed into Jonathan's car (in Arkansas). Both are okay and no one was hurt, Thank God!

But most importantly, Hurricane Ian hit the gulf coast causing massive damage to several of our friends in the Ft. Meyers, Cape Coral and Boca Grande area. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they sort out the details of putting their lives and property back together!

In the meantime, we are still on track to depart Kentucky Lake on 10/9/2022 and are scheduled to attend the Rendezvous at Paris Landing, TN. We are packed and have the first two months of our travels planned. Ladies, say a little prayer for me ... Joel said I had to limit myself on clothes & shoes (What?!) Shh.... Don't tell Joel, I packed a bag of shoes!

Lastly, Joel has been busy getting the boat engine ready.

It has been a great couple of months, celebrating with friends and planning our stops (along the path of the loop). Our AB buddies have had multiple outings with us, and our neighbors (Rasure & Wunsch) hosted a wonderful dinner with drinks by the fire. You all make it hard to leave. We hope you all follow our blog and make comments to our post. We also enjoyed Parent's Weekend w/ Jonathan in Arkansas!

Our friend, Evelyn, agreed to help Grampy (Ray) watch the house during our travels. Surely between the two of them, the house will still be standing when we return :-)

See map: We will depart Kentucky Lake, follow the Tennessee River down to Mobile, Alabama, follow the Florida panhandle, cross the gulf to Tarpon Springs, and then head south to Key West for the month of January. First stop: Fairhope, AL (10/22 - 10/26) to visit my brother, Brian and his family.
